Membership Coordinator and Docent

Spirit Room is in need of individuals and older adults to take an active interest in the FM Arts community maintain membership and donation records, generate membership correspondence as requested, update membership database and serve as docent to answer phones, greet visitors and provide assistance as needed with mailing, paperwork and office organization.  Wednesday afternoons from 1pm-5pm for about 4 hours of time each week.  Located at 111 Broadway in Downtown Fargo. 

Archivist and Docent

Spirit Room is in need of individuals and older adults to take an active interest in the FM Arts community, record Spirit room events, art shows and concerts in Archives Data Base, compile documents, posters, and related materials into master files and notebooks, maintain a running account of events and serves as docent to answer phones, greet visitors and provide assistance  as needed with mailing, paperwork and office organization.  Friday afternoons from 1pm-5pm for about 4 hours of time each week. Located at 111 Broadway in Downtown Fargo. 

Assistant to Beauty Shop

Bethany Retirement Living is in need of individuals to assist taking residents to and from the Beauty Shop, gathering a schedule of appointments, organizing schedule, going to units to notify the residents of their appointments, transporting the resident by wheelchair to the beauty shop and back to their rooms.  Monday through Friday from 9am-12pm, could do one to one visits during down time.  At the 201 South University Drive location.

Get set and go stylists

Bethany Retirement Living is in need of individuals or small groups (2-6) who are willing and able to fix hair, to set and or curl with curling iron residents who do not go to the beauty shop.  Do not need a Beautician license.  Could also paint nails.  Mornings 9am-12pm every/any day of the week.  At 201 South University Drive locations.

Coffee Shop

Bethany Retirement Living is in need of individuals, older adults, families, small groups of 2, and youth-minimum age of 16 years old or younger with an adult to volunteer in the coffee shop on the weekends.  Saturdays: 12:30pm-4pm, Sundays: 12:30-4pm at 201 South University Drive location.

Arc Buddies

The Arc of Cass County is in need of individuals, older adults,  and youth-minimum age of18+. Arc Buddies matches a volunteer from the community and a person with a developmental disability for friendship.  The Arc provides 2 planned events monthly, or you can choose your own activity for your match.

Fargo Muscle Walk

Muscular Dystrophy Association is in need of individuals, families, older adults, small and large groups from 2-20 to help with check-in/registration, handing out t-shirts, greeting walkers, and covering food station.  Day of Hope, fun event entertainment, mascots, walk itself, etc.  April 26th at West Acres.  Event starts at 7:30am need volunteers by 6:30am, event ends at 10:00am.


Big Brothers Big Sisters is in need of individuals to become a friend and mentor to a young person in need of a positive adult influence in their life by becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister.  Spending time hanging out at least a couple of times a month.


Fargo Marathon is in need of individuals ages 18+, small and large groups 2-20, and older adults to volunteer to be parking lot greeters on May 8,9,10.  Parking lot set-up/take do0wn crew on May 9 & 10.  On May 10th need volunteers to be shuttle service attendants, hospitality tent, "track your runner" assistants, and cheering station.  Volunteers need to report to the Fercho YMCA downtown location.

Website Designer

CTIC (Community Transition Interagency Committee) is looking for individuals to help create a website for their organization.  CTIC is an organization that promotes awareness of community transition support to people with disabilities and to those who support them. CTIC is in need of someone who can create a website to help create more awareness of CTIC and the resources it provides.  CTIC meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 3:30pm at Moorhead High School. 

Road to Recovery Driver

American Cancer Society is looking for individuals, 18 years old and older adults to provide rides to patients who have no way to get to their cancer treatment.  Volunteer drivers donate their time and the use of their cars to get patients to and from the treatment they need.  All drivers are training by the American Cancer Society.  Drivers need a current valid driver's license, a good driving record, a safe and reliable car and proof of car insurance. This program requires a one-year commitment but has flexible hours and will work with your availability! 

Fargo Marathon Charity Runners

FirstLink is in need of individuals, families, older adults, youths, small and large groups to join the FirstLink marathon team and run for a cause!  Looking for runners to represent FirstLink during the marathon weekend!  Marathon will be held on May 8th and 9th.  Runners can sign up for the 5k, 10k, half marathon or marathon. 

REACH Food Pantry Office Support 

The REACH office in Hawley is in need of volunteers for Office support to assist clients with our Food Pantry on Mondays & Thursdays between 1pm-4pm.  Any help with one or both of these days for any amount of time would be greatly appreciated.  

Support Group Facilitator

Alzheimer’s Association is looking for an individual to facilitate an existing support group for those caring for a person with younger-onset Alzheimer’s.  The person they care for is a loved one who is under 65 years of age and has dementia. The support group meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 6:30-800pm at 2631 12th Ave S, Fargo.   

 Dress for Success Boutique Merchandiser

Dress for Success Red River Vally is in need of volunteers to assist with sorting clothing donations and organizing the Boutique.  Flexible hours are available. 

Roof Repair Volunteers

Rebuilding Together Fargo-Moorhead Area is in need of individuals, older adults, or small and large groups (2-12) to help with roof repairs to homes.  These are elderly people, many are veterans and/or widows who live on a fixed income. They want to stay in their homes, but don’t have the money to fix the roof.  We are looking for both a house captain who has expertise in this area and people willing to serve on a crew.  You are also needed if you don’t have this skill set as there are needs regarding site cleanup.   

Cashier Volunteer

Jazzy & Mumbos a thrift store where the proceeds go to animal aid, is in need of individuals, families, or older adults to help open the store, run the cash register, and keep the store neat and clean. This would be a long term opportunity.  Hours needed are from 9am-12:30pm, Volunteers are also needed one or two days in the afternoon from 12:00pm-4:30pm.  Flexible times and days are available. 

Patient Care Volunteer

Hospice Red River Valley is in need of individuals to provide companionship, light housekeeping, friendly visiting, to reminisce, play cards, and share coffee with patients who are receiving hospice care. Times are flexible depending on patient needs and volunteer availability.   

Meal Delivery Volunteers

Valley Senior Services is in need of volunteers to assist with Meals on Wheels Delivery in West Fargo. Volunteers deliver the meals to homebound elderly in our community. Meals are delivered for the noon meal Monday through Friday out of the West Fargo high-rise. It is about a one-hour time commitment each week.  

*Youth Court Volunteer

Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota is looking for mature, responsible people between the ages of 13 and 18 years old to serve in the Youth Court. Youth Court is an alternative to formal court proceedings for youth who have been charged with an offense or are showing concerning behavior.  As a Youth Court volunteer you will participate as courtroom personnel in decisions that help your community.  You will have the opportunity to learn about the court system, gain valuable experience that can be used on college applications, serve as a positive role model, meet new friends and help your peers repair the harm that they have caused.  All volunteers must go through a 1 hour orientation prior to serving as a jury member on Youth Court and acquire 2 letters of recommendation from non-family members.  Youth Court hearings are held every Thursday (year-round) from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the Lutheran Social Services Program Center (4720 7th Ave S, Suite B). We ask that volunteers commit to attending 2 times a month but we are able to be flexible with your schedule on which dates you are able to participate.
