Front Desk Coverage

PATH ND is in need of individuals and older adults for admitting authorized people into building for evening and weekend meetings or trainings; maintain a presence to monitor safety of children and families and the security of the building; directing people to the appropriate meeting or training rooms; light clerical duties.  Variable dates and times depending on after hour meetings and trainings schedules. Interested parties would need to complete the FBI Fingerprint Background Check ( PATH would pay for the BCI) and comply with PATH's Non-Disclosure and Policy and Standards. 

*Celtic Festival

Fargo Park District is in need of individuals, older adults, youth-minimum age of 15 years old, small and large groups (2-20) to assist with arts and crafts, be a greeter at the front door or be a performer host.  The event will be on March 14th from 10am-4pm at the Hjemkomst Center- 202 1st Ave North, Moorhead, MN.  Volunteer shifts are 9:30am-1:30pm or 1pm-5pm. 

*Fargo Marathon Charity Team

FirstLink is in need of individuals, families, older adults, small and large groups to make every step of your Fargo Marathon event count by joining FirstLink's Run for Hope Charity Team.  Anyone participating can be on the charity team regardless of age.  Get donations and earn great gifts for yourself.  To learn more and to register for FirstLink's team go to http://bit.ly/1xV23th.  The event will be held May 7th-9th at the Fargodome. 

Medical Escort and Hairdresser

Rosewood on Broadway is in need of individuals or older adults to be medical escorts for our residents for medical appointments- daily as needed.  Also need volunteers to help with setting our lady residents hair on Friday mornings. The hours are from 7:30am-10:30am. 

Receptionist  for Front Desk

SENDCAAA Head Start is in need of individuals or older adults to help answer phones.  Fargo Head Start is looking for people who like children or office environments.  Duties would include answering telephone calls and "buzz" people into secure building, helping children and teachers in the classroom.  Head Start locations for this opportunity are in South Fargo.  Flexible times available between Monday through Friday during the times of 8:30am-3:30pm. 

Donations Pick-up Volunteer

Dress for Success Red River Valley is in need of individuals, families, and small groups (2-6) to be responsible for picking up donations from one of our three locations (Blush Salon, Waxing the City Fargo, Jenny Craig). Volunteers will be responsible for contacting the store weekly to check on their level of donations. Volunteers will coordinate pick up of donations with the store and Dress for Success Boutique.  This opportunity is flexible and can work around most schedules.  If donations are checked on weekly, the level of clothing will fit in a car.

Meal Volunteer Opportunity

FM Dorothy Day House is in need of individuals, families, older adults, small groups (4 at most). This is a meal volunteer opportunity, the responsibilities are to bring food to prepare and cooking food by 6pm on designated night of volunteer's choice.  Can stay and eat with us, food must be prepared here or in a commercial kitchen.  

Share a Meal

The Ronald McDonald House of the Red River Valley is in need of individuals, families, older adults, and small groups (2-6) to volunteer to extend needed support to families by providing meals at the House.  Volunteers make a tremendous difference in the lives of families by providing nutritious and delicious meals and baked goods.  We are seeking volunteers to help us create a "home away from home" for families by coming to our House and preparing a meal or baked goods.  Baked goods can be provided at any time.

Eventide at Sheyenne Crossings is in need of individuals, families, older adults, small groups (2-6) and youth-minimum age of 16 years old to assist with special events, parties, and activities which include crafts, bingo, and games.  Various times during the day/evenings and weekends are available at Eventide at Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo.

Cook and Kitchen Helper Volunteer
 
A Place for Hope: Recovery and Wellness Center is in need of individuals to assist with preparation of noon meals as able, so far we only schedule it on Wednesdays but would like to expand this offering.  They are open Monday 9am-5pm, Tuesday 9am-6pm, Wednesday 9am-6pm, Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-9pm, Saturday 9am-9pm, Sunday 12pm-5pm, *depending on volunteers.  They are located at 2419 12th Ave S. A Place for Hope: Recovery and Wellness Center  is in need of individuals to serve on the board and help fulfill our mission and assist with development of the A Place for Hope: Recovery and Wellness Center.  They are open Monday 9am-5pm, Tuesday 9am-6pm, Wednesday 9am-6pm, Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-9pm, Saturday 9am-9pm, Sunday 12pm-5pm, *depending on volunteers.  Board meetings monthly 3rd Wednesday.  They are located at 2419 12th Ave S. General Maintenance and Upkeep Volunteer
 
Bonanzaville is looking for individuals, older adults small groups, Youth-minimum of 18 years old with specific talents to help our facilities team with the upkeep of our village.  We are looking for people with skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, engines, roofing, painting building, etc.  Please contact us during regular business hours for more information.  Bonanzaville is located at 1351 West Main Ave, West Fargo, North Dakota.
 
Booth Volunteer
 
FirstLink is in need of individuals, families, and older adults to represent FirstLink at various booths in the community.  Time commitment is typically 2-4 hours per booth.  Booths are typically in the evenings and on weekends; some weekday booths maybe available.
 
Mentor in the Reach & Rise Program
 
 YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties is in need of individuals for their mentor programs.  Volunteer mentors are matched with a young person, age 6-17 years old, for one year to provide one-to-one mentoring services and create safe, healthy and meaningful relationships with youth.  Mentors meet with their mentee once a week for 1-3 hours and participate in activities of their choice. 
 
Senior companion
 
 Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota: Lutheran Social Services Senior Companions is in need of Older Adults (55+years) to provide companionship (coffee & conversations), social recreation and assistance with non-medical daily living activities. (e.g. grocery shopping, sorting mail, light meal prep to older adult men who are homebound, lonely, isolated, frail or disable.  Flexible weekly schedule.  Volunteers received hourly stipend, paid holidays, paid time off and mileage reimbursement. 

Mentors

Big Brothers Big Sisters is in need of men who are willing to be a friend and mentor to a young person in need of a positive influence in their life.  Involves spending time hanging out at least a couple of times a month.

Road to Recovery Driver

American Cancer Society is looking for individuals, 18 years old and older adults to provide rides to patients who have no way to get to their cancer treatment.  Volunteer drivers donate their time and the use of their cars to get patients to and from the treatment they need.  All drivers are training by the American Cancer Society.  Drivers need a current valid driver's license, a good driving record, a safe and reliable car and proof of car insurance. This program requires a one-year commitment but has flexible hours and will work with your availability! 

REACH Food Pantry Office Support 

The REACH office in Hawley is in need of volunteers for Office support to assist clients with our Food Pantry on Mondays & Thursdays between 1pm-4pm.  Any help with one or both of these days for any amount of time would be greatly appreciated.  

Support Group Facilitator

Alzheimer’s Association is looking for an individual to facilitate an existing support group for those caring for a person with younger-onset Alzheimer’s.  The person they care for is a loved one who is under 65 years of age and has dementia. The support group meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 6:30-8:00pm at 2631 12th Ave S, Fargo.   

 Dress for Success Boutique Merchandiser

Dress for Success Red River Vally is in need of volunteers to assist with sorting clothing donations and organizing the Boutique.  Flexible hours are available. 

Patient Care Volunteer

Hospice Red River Valley is in need of individuals to provide companionship, light housekeeping, friendly visiting, to reminisce, play cards, and share coffee with patients who are receiving hospice care. Times are flexible depending on patient needs and volunteer availability.   

Meal Delivery Volunteers

Valley Senior Services is in need of volunteers to assist with Meals on Wheels Delivery in West Fargo. Volunteers deliver the meals to homebound elderly in our community. Meals are delivered for the noon meal Monday through Friday out of the West Fargo high-rise. It is about a one-hour time commitment each week.  

*Youth Court Volunteer

Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota  is looking for mature, responsible people between the ages of 12 and 18 years old to serve on the Youth Court jury.  Youth Court is an alternative to formal court proceedings for youth who have been charged with an offense or are showing concerning behavior.  As a Youth Court volunteer you will participate as courtroom personnel and make decisions that help your community and your peers.  As a volunteer you will also have the opportunity to learn about the court system, gain valuable experience that can be used on college applications, serve as a positive role model, meet new friends and help your peers repair the harm that they have caused.  All volunteers must go through a 1 hour orientation prior to serving as a jury member on Youth Court and acquire 2 letters of recommendation from non-family members.  Youth Court hearings are held every Thursday (year-round) from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the Lutheran Social Services Program Center (4720 7th Ave S, Suite B).  We ask that volunteers commit to attending 2 times a month but we are able to be flexible with your schedule on which dates you are able to participate.
