Suicide Services

24-Hour Suicide Lifeline

FirstLink’s Suicide Lifeline, 1-800-273-TALK (8255), is connected to a national network of crisis services, so no call for help is unanswered.  Our Call Specialists help those who are having thoughts of suicide themselves, or who have a concern about someone.

Suicide Education Outreach
FirstLink’s Suicide Education Outreach has provided the community with valuable information since 1996.  Participants receive training on warning signs, risk factors and statistics.  Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for 15-24 year olds.  Students receive valuable and beneficial information that may help them save their own life or the life of someone they know.

Suicide Survivors’ Support Group
The purpose of the Suicide Survivors' Support Group is to help people resolve their grief and pain in their own personal way, and to help them move forward in their lives, positively and productively.

The Suicide Survivors' Support Group has been in existence since May of 1993, providing support to those who have lost a loved one to suicide.  The support group is offered at no charge and is not affiliated with any religious group or denomination.  Please call (701) 293-6462 for more information.

Suicide Intervention Training
FirstLink offers Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) to the community.  This is a 2-day workshop to train individuals to become suicide first aid caregivers.

Suicide Prevention Training

FirstLink offers Suicide Prevention Trainings to local professionals.   Trainings can be tailored to meet the needs of the organization or agency.
