Disaster Management

During the past local disasters, our communities have relied heavily on volunteer assistance to augment government actions. We can all remember the role that volunteers from around the region and from around the country played during our most recent flood disasters. In 2004, the City of Fargo Administrator expressed concern that our volunteer capability was not as well organized as it could be.

FirstLink Volunteer Center has filled that gap and concern with year round volunteer promotion and organization of disaster volunteers. One of the core components of this project is the development of Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) in Cass County. 

FirstLink is developing a list of individuals and groups who would be able to provide services in the time of a disaster. To register your skills and interests to possibly be called upon in a disaster, please visit this site:
